University of Hawaii volleyball players served up doughnuts this morning for people buying tickets for this weekend's Mountain Pacific Sports Federation tournament.

Today was the first day of ticket sales, and several people were in line at the Stan Sheriff Center as early as 6:30 a.m. for the ticket office's 8 a.m. opening.

The fourth-ranked Warriors (18-9 overall, 14-8 in the MPSF) are seeded No. 4 and will open play Saturday night at 7 against No. 5 Pepperdine (16-9, 14-8).

Tickets also are available by calling 944-2697 or online at hawaiiathletics.com.

Hawai'i moved up a spot to No. 4 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Division I-II Men's Coaches Top 15 today. Pepperdine is ranked fifth.

Stanford is No. 1, followed by BYU and Cal State Northridge.

For the third time this season, UH opposite Jonas Umlauft was selected as co-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Week.

Umlauft averaged 7.17 kills per set while hitting .315 in the series against UC Santa Barbara.

Stanford sophomore libero Erik Shoji, son of UH women's head coach Dave Shoji and Punahou graduate, shared the honor. He had 30 digs in 10 sets in a two-match split at UC Irvine.
