Advertiser Staff

Ohana Summer Arts, a new summer arts program for children ages 8 to 16, is accepting applications from students islandwide who are interested in participating in its inaugural 8-week summer musical theatre course. The program runs June 7 through Aug. 1 at Hongwanji Mission School, 1728 Pali Highway.

There will be classes in basic movement and dance technique, private voice lessons, and a role in the main stage production, "Mulan Jr.," which will be the culmination of the summer program.

Instructors for Ohana Summer Arts include performing artists from Hawai'i and New York City, and include those who have performed at New York City Opera, Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall and at Regional and Broadway Theatres.

Tuition for the program is $900 and includes lunches. Early bird registration entitles applicants to a $25 discount and ends on April 25. Regular registration ends on May 28. Enrollment will be closed when 30 students have registered.
