Ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro joined 48 musicians from St. Andrew's Priory this morning for a jam session in St. Andrew's Cathedral.

Shimabukuro, who leaves tomorrow for a tour of Europe, performed for the Priory band and then joined them in several swing and classical numbers.

The event was part of the Music is Good Medicine program that Shimabukuro hopes to eventually take to every school in the state.

On the program's Web site www.musicisgoodmedicine.org Shimabukuro preaches the ability of music to be a positive pursuit that can help kids steer clear of negative influences.
