A male motorcyclist was in critical condition yesterday after a crash on Papipi Road in 'Ewa Beach.

The accident happened at about 12:30 p.m. near Laukona Loop.

Emergency crews found the man lying in the road, said Honolulu fire Capt. Earle Kealoha.

The motorcyclist was believed to be in his 30s.

Kealoha said it was not obvious which way the motorcycle was headed, and witnesses said the man may have swerved to avoid a car coming out of a side street.

Rescue crews did not know if the man had been wearing a helmet. Paramedics took him to The Queen's Medical Center.
