Volunteers needed to help collect water samples Saturday

Advertiser Staff

Hui o Ko'olaupoko is seeking volunteers to collect water samples on Hawai'i Volunteer Snapshot Day from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Kailua and Waimanalo beaches.

The annual snapshot day aims to promote environmental awareness and increase volunteer water quality monitoring throughout the state. Volunteers will simultaneously monitor the water in their local communities and compare their findings in an online database.

Kailua and Waimanalo volunteers should meet at the lifeguard stand at the Waimanalo Beach Park and at the canoe hale at Kailua Beach Park at 9 a.m.

No experience is necessary, and kits will be provided to people of all ages.
