Woman, 41, arrested after trying to use forged check
A 41-year-old Kane'ohe woman was arrested Tuesday in connection with an incident at a Kane'ohe restaurant in April in which she allegedly tried to use a forged check to pay for a meal.
Restaurant employees told police the woman tried to pay with a check but was told that the restaurant only accepts personalized checks, with the patron's name printed on them.
The diner said her husband is the account holder and showed his passport. The restaurant employees asked the woman for her identification. She said she had left it in her car. When she got to the car, she drove off.
Police said the restaurant employees were able to identify the woman in a photographic lineup. Officers found the woman Tuesday and arrested her on suspicion of forgery and unauthorized control of personal confidential information.
