A California museum has named Henry J. Kaiser one of that state's most influential people, inducting the industrialist who also left a major mark on Hawai'i's history into a four-year-old Hall of Fame.

Kaiser was one of 13 inductees into The California Museum's California Hall of Fame this year. Other inductees this year included entertainer Carol Burnett, filmmaker George Lucas, philanthropist and peace activist Joan Kroc and Air Force test pilot Gen. Chuck Yeager.

As part of the recognition, artifacts and mementos from the inductees will be featured in a new exhibit in the museum, which was established in 1998 in Sacramento to showcase pieces of California's history.

Kaiser, who was semi-retired when he arrived in Hawai'i in 1954 at age 72, master-planned and developed Hawai'i Kai and a Waikiki resort on the site of what is now Hilton Hawaiian Village.

A&B SELLS WAREHOUSE IN LOS ANGELES

Alexander & Baldwin Inc. has sold a Los Angeles warehouse for an undisclosed price.

The deal is part of the company's strategy to sell mature real estate investments and reinvest proceeds in other property with favorable growth prospects on a tax-exempt basis.

A&B said the sale price was "favorable" for the 126,000-square-foot warehouse in the City of Industry.

HAWAIIAN AIRLINES FLYING RAIDERS AGAIN

For the 10th consecutive year, Hawaiian Airlines will provide chartered air service for the Oakland Raiders football team.

As the Raiders celebrates its 50th regular season of professional football, Hawaiian is flying the team to this week's opening road game in Kansas City, as well as to Houston, New York, San Diego, Dallas, Pittsburgh, Denver and Cleveland this season.

The players are served first-class meals, featuring extra-large portions, fresh fruit, snacks, beverages and other special requests. Products from Hawai'i are available, such as iced tea and passion orange guava juice.
