Waipahu church to send volunteers, supplies to American Samoa

Advertiser Staff

A Waipahu church is sending volunteers and relief supplies this week to help tsunami victims in American Samoa.

Lighthouse Outreach Center is planning to send a group of 15 people and 30 pallets of food, clothing and other supplies. They will leave Thursday or Friday, Lighthouse Pastor Joe Hunkin said.
The group will set up distribution sites in Pago Pago and Leone.
“Showing the love of God in a practical way is not just talking about it but doing something about it,” Hunkin said. “We will bring comfort and hope to all the Samoan people.”
The group is accepting donations, Hunkin said. People may contact him at 542-1001 or headrickhunkin@hotmail.com.
