PAGO PAGO, American Samoa — About 75 families in American Samoa were listed to be the next to receive shelter materials, including tents, from federal recovery teams.

The first delivery of the materials to 22 families occurred Monday, six days after the U.S. territory, neighboring Samoa and Tonga were hit by a deadly tsunami.
The initial recipients live in the shoreline villages of Poloa and Fagamalo.
Residents of tsunami-ravaged villages have been staying in emergency shelters. Many of them want to return to their property, to clean it up and start the recovery process.
Gov. Togiola Tulafono is calling for public patience and cooperation as the materials are being assembled to help those most in need.
