Water service restored in Makakilo, road still closed

Advertiser Staff

Water service has been restored to Makakilo after a water main break cut off service to six homes, a church and a convenience store.

Board of Water Supply crews restored the service shortly before 9 p.m., officials said. However, Makakilo Drive will remain closed through late tonight as crews continue making road road repairs. The work is expected to be done before tomorrow's morning rush hour.
The 8-inch main break was reported just before 4 a.m. at 92-616 Makakilo Dr. It forced the closure of makai-bound lanes on Makakilo Drive between Aoloko and Anipeahi streets, according to BWS spokeswoman Tracy Burgo.
Water wagons have been set up at Makakilo Malama Super Market and Makakilo Baptist Church.
