Two Honolulu police motorcycle officers suffered minor injuries yesterday afternoon after they were involved in a collision on Valkenburgh Street near Honolulu International Airport.
Michelle Yu, police spokeswoman, said one of the officers swerved to avoid hitting a car and laid his motorcycle down, and that the second officer's motorcycle "clipped" the first.
Yu said the two injured officers were taken to The Queen's Medical Center where they were treated and released..
Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city Emergency Services Department, said the collision occurred in front of the Honolulu Fire Department's training center and the city fire station on Valkenburgh near Nimitz Highway.
Cheplic said city paramedics were dispatched at 10:18 a.m. and transported a man in his 30s as well as a second patient, on whom no information was immediately available, to a trauma center in Honolulu.
