Associated Press

CASARES, Spain — Ross Fisher won the 36-hole World Match Play Championship final on Sunday by beating Anthony Kim 4 and 3.

Fisher eagled the 22nd hole and birdie the next to put him 3-up at the Finca Cortesin golf course. Kim won the next hole before missing putts on the 25th and 26th holes, allowing Fisher to pull away.

Fisher, the fourth Englishman to win the event, earned $1.1 million.

Robert Allenby of Australia beat Masters champion Angel Cabrera of Argentina to finish third.
