Hawaiian Arts Market and animation exhibit
| |||
This is the last weekend to catch the interactive “Animation” exhibit at Bishop Museum, which conveniently coincides with the Hawaiian Arts Market and Keiki Arts Festival today and tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
During the market and festival — part of the Maoli Arts Month celebration — admission to the museum is reduced to $3 for kamaçäina and military. The regular rates of $12.95 to $15.95 return Monday.
The traveling “Animation” exhibit looks at the history, science and technology that brought motion to art.
The 4th Annual Native Hawaiian Arts Market and Keiki Arts Festival features more than 40 Hawaiian artists, whose pieces include feather work, silk scarves, turned bowls, carved images, decorated gourds, weaponry and weaving. There will be demonstrations, arts and crafts for the keiki, food and entertainment.
