HOUSTON — Brian Ching and Kei Kamara scored in the first half and the Houston Dynamo cruised to a 3-1 win over the San Jose Earthquakes tonight.

Craig Waibel also scored for Houston (4-2-3), which extended its unbeaten streak to six matches (4-0-2).

Ruam Johnson had the only goal for San Jose (1-6-2) as the Earthquakes stretched their winless string to seven (0-5-2) since beating the Dynamo on March 28.

The Dynamo grabbed a 1-0 lead in the fourth minute on Ching's header from Brad Davis. Off a direct kick from the right side from about 25 yards, Davis sent a nice cross into the box, and Ching, a Kamehameha Schools alum from Hale'iwa, headed it in from 8 yards out.

Eight minutes later, Davis had another assist on Kamara's goal. Off a corner kick, Davis passed to Kamara from the right side of the box, and Kamara headed it into the right side of the net.

Waibel extended the lead in the 51st after getting his foot on a ball in the box and putting it just inside the left post.

Ryan Johnson got San Jose on the board two minutes later, putting a header just inside the right post and under the crossbar.
