PEARL CITY-KAPOLEI
Six student finalists are chosen in UH-West Oahu flyer contest

Six finalists have been chosen out of more than 250 high school students around the state in the second annual University of Hawai'i at West O'ahu Flyer Contest.

The finalists are: Ahndiana Flores of James Campbell High School, Leah Hashimoto of King Kekaulike High School, AnnaRae Kahala of Kahuku High and Intermediate School, Michael Pangilinan of Kapolei High School, Daryl Sanbei of Leilehua High School, and Christina Yabrough of Waipahu High School.

Contestants were asked to create a flier that promotes UH West O'ahu as a top choice for college-bound students and incorporate a unique advertising headline.

The general public is invited to vote for the grand-prize winner at uhwo.hawaii.edu/flyercontest. Online voting ends March 31 at 11:59 p.m. The grand-prize winner will be announced in April.

The winner receives an iPod Touch and will have his or her work published in a local newspaper.
