Hawai'i schools take regional robotics competition

Four Hawai'i schools have earned spots at the Robotics World Championship to be held in Atlanta next month.
A three-team alliance of McKinley, Maui and Moanalua high Schools won the Hawaii Regional Robotics Competition held yesterday and today at the University of Hawai'i's Manoa campus.
Waialua High School won the Regional Chairman's Award.
All four Hawai'i schools qualified to advance to the World Championship.
More than 1,000 students from Hawai'i, the U.S. mainland, Mexico and the Philippines participated in the regional contest.
The robotics competitions are designed to help students develop #critical thinking skills and expand their knowledge of science, technology, engineering and math.
