Isle company launches Tetris site

Honolulu-based Tetris Online Inc. has launched the first official Tetris game site in North America.
"We are proud to offer fans of Tetris unlimited access to America's favorite casual game on Tetris Friends Online Games," said Minoru Arakawa, president and CEO of Tetris Online Inc.
The Web site, www.tetrisfriends.com, is home to six single-player and multiplayer games.
In addition, players can take a break from the games to check out the Gallery, which displays how Tetris has become a pop-culture icon over the past 25 years.
MOKULELE STARTS HILO FLIGHTS IN MAY
Mokulele Airlines will launch Honolulu to Hilo service May 1.The interisland carrier — which also operates flights between Honolulu and Kahului, Kailua, Kona and Lihu'e — will offer an introductory fare of $35 for the new service for travel through May 31. Hawaiian Airlines matched the fare.
Last week, Indianapolis-based Republic Airways acquired a 50 percent ownership stake in Mokulele Airlines and replaced the chief executive officer of the Kona-based company with a Republic executive.
ALOHA DOGGIE DAYCARE OPENS
A group of local residents, seeing a need for dog grooming and boarding services on the Windward side, have opened Aloha Doggie Daycare in Kane'ohe.The business, at 46-144 Kahuhipa St., was launched March 14 by Kathy Gunderson along with Gregg and Kathleen Takemori, husband and wife.
"With the support of family, friends, Pets Discount & Waimanalo Feed Supply, they were able to make their love for dogs a reality," a news release from the company said.
TOURISM EXEC TAPPED FOR HTA BOARD
Gov. Linda Lingle has nominated local tourism executive Ron Williams to serve on the board of the Hawai'i Tourism Authority.He would fill the vacancy left by former board member John Toner, of Ko Olina, who resigned.
Williams, who is president and chief executive officer of Atlantis Adventures, is a Maui resident who commutes to O'ahu for work.
The Senate Tourism Committee yesterday rec-ommended approval of the nomination with four senators voting yes, and one excused.
If approved by the full state Senate, his term would expire June 30, 2010.
