Hawaiian Airlines President and CEO Mark Dunkerley has been named Salesperson of the Year for 2008 by the Sales and Marketing Executives International of Honolulu.

Dunkerley will be honored tomorrow at SMEI's annual SPOY luncheon at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel.

"Since he joined the company in 2002, Hawaiian has raised the bar in our local airline industry, increasing its flight schedule and improving its products and services to the benefit of Hawaii residents and our visitors alike," said Dave Livingston, president of the local SMEI chapter.

Dunkerley also is the incoming chairman of the Board of Directors for the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau and serves as a director on boards of the Hawaii Business Roundtable and the Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii.
