High surf advisory for east shores
The National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Advisory for all east-facing shores.
Surf will be 5 to 8 feet and residents should take precautions and be prepared to act, the weather service said.
A high pressure centered northeast of the state has produced a broad fetch of trade winds. This is creating large choppy surf along exposed shores.
The advisory will remain in effect until 6 p.m. Friday.
A High Surf Advisory means high surf will affect beaches in the advisory area producing rip currents and beach erosion.
