UH's Flemings on All-WAC second team, Nitoto All-Defensive team

University of Hawai'i's forward Roderick Flemings was named to the All-Western Athletic Conference men's basketball second team and to the All-Newcomer Team, the league announced today.
UH's Kareem Nitoto, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound guard from Berkeley, Calif., was named to the All-Defensive Team.
Flemings, who is 6-7 and 210 pounds, is the Rainbow Warriors leading scorer, averaging 16.6 points per game. He also averaged 5.8 rebounds per game, and had 33 steals, 52 assists and 13 blocks. Nitoto averaged 6.9 points and 2.9 rebounds per game, and had 100 assists, 6 blocks and 31 steals.
Utah State forward Gary Wilkinson was named WAC Player of the Year and his coach Stew Morrill was Coach of the Year. Luke Babbitt of Nevada was named Freshman of the Year.
The Rainbow Warriors (13-16) open the WAC Tournament Tuesday against Fresno State at Reno, Nev.
The Rainbow Wahine were shutout in the WAC postseason honors, which were also released today.
Punahou alum Shaena-Lyn Kuehu, a 5-9 guard for Idaho, was named to the All-Freshman Team.
