NFL: Seahawks sign WR Houshmandzadeh
Associated Press
SEATTLE — Free-agent receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh has signed with the Seattle Seahawks.
(hoosh-mahn-ZAH'-deh) caught 204 passes in the last two seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals. Seattle's top receiver last year was Bobby Engram with 47 catches.
The Seahawks had seven injured wide receivers last season and finished with a 4-12 record.
Houshmandzadeh teamed with Chad Johnson to give the Bengals one of the best receiving tandems in the NFL in 2005, when Cincinnati had its only winning record in the past 18 years.
Reports say the deal is for $40 million over five years.
