Tickets now on sale for Dave Koz at Pops finale

Advertiser Staff

Tickets are on sale now for jazz star Dave Koz's May 23 performance with longtime friend Matt Catingub at the upcoming Honolulu Symphony Toyota Pops season finale.

The show will be at 8 p.m. at the Waikiki Shell.

Koz, who is considered a co-inventor of the smooth jazz scene, will perform classic songs such as "Over the Rainbow," "As Time Goes By," "The Way We Were," "Moon River," the theme song to the movie "The Pink Panther" and more.

A six-time Grammy nominee, Koz will be honored later this year by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce with a star in the sidewalk on Hollywood Boulevard's Walk of Fame. He and Catingub first played together in high school bands in California's San Fernando Valley, where they were two grades apart. Their first public performance together was at the Monterey Jazz Festival in 1982.

Tickets are $15, $45, $60, $75 and $90 and can be purchased at 1-877-750-4400 or www.ticketmaster.com. Wheelchair seating is available for $20. You can also call 792-2000 (weekdays) or 524-0815 ext. 245 (evenings).
