Knitting discussion June 27 at Hawaii State Library

“Yarn Tasting: A Workshop for People with One or Two Sticks” will be held at 3 p.m. June 27 on the Hawaii State Library’s Art, Music & Recreation Section, 2nd Floor Balcony, 478 South King St.
Designer MK Carroll will present a free workshop for adults featuring quick reviews of knit and crochet pattern books and media in the library's collection, and a "yarn-tasting."
Carroll, who has been featured in The Honolulu Advertiser and has appeared on the DIY Network show “Knitty Gritty,” is an Oahu resident who designs knit and crochet patterns.
The one-hour workshop will include a question-and-answer session on knitting or crocheting.
Participants will receive complimentary sample bags which will include sections of yarn suitable for tropical-weather garments,felting or making warm garments and accessories. Participants may bring a project to work on during the presentation or to "show-and-tell" at the end of the workshop.
Class size and sample bags are limited. Registration is recommended; sign up in person at the Art, Music and Recreation reference desk or call the library.
