Emeril Lagasse gets cookin' aboard the 'Mighty Mo' — but, sorry, it's private

Advertiser Staff

Celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse, in town this weekend for a Kahala Hotel & Resort food festival, will present an invitation-only cooking demonstration and book signing aboard the Battleship Missouri from Sunday.

The afternoon event, presented by the Pearl Harbor Naval Exchange, is for select active-duty military personnel, dependents and retirees only and is a way for Lagasse to express his support of the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces. Only those who have been previously invited may attend. A segment of Lagasse's TV cooking show will be taped aboard the ship.
The public is, however, invited to a National Flag Day ceremony at 2 p.m. Sunday aboard ship (admission fees apply), hosted by the Hawai'i lodges of the Benevolent Protective Order of The Elks. No word on whether Mr. Kick-It-Up-A-Notch will be there.
