Bethany Hamilton, the Kaua'i professional surfer who lost her left arm in a shark attack six years ago, will be a contestant on the Fox television show "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" at 7 p.m. tomorrow on KHON.

Hamilton's opponent in the battle for a $1 million prize is coma survivor Jill Finley.

The show, which tests adult contestants' knowledge of a variety of subjects at the elementary school level, features help from real fifth-graders. Comic Jeff Foxworthy hosts.

Hamilton, 19, is in her second year competing in the Association of Surfing Professionals World Qualifying Series and is currently ranked 19th among women at that level of competition.
