Police charged a man for investigation of arson yesterday of a condominium lobby security security system.

The man, Marden Manawis-Molina, 47, entered the lobby of a secured Ala Moana area condominium and used a hand-held torch lighter or similar device to torch an electronic card reader and a security camera, police said. The 11:45 a.m. incident occurred on Saturday. He was arrested and held in police lock up on charges of investigation of arson in the third degree after police reviewed a surveillance tape and recognized the man.
