Ewa Beach Library, four others may shut down because of budget cuts

Advertiser Staff Writer

The Board of Education, which oversees operations of state libraries, is considering closing five libraries due to budget cuts.

The board is meeting this afternoon to consider the proposal. The libraries that may be closed are:
Hölualoa Public Library -- Big Island
Pähala Public Library -- Big Island
Kealakekua Public Library -- Big Island
çEwa Beach Public Library -- Oçahu
Häna Public and School Library -- Maui
