CBKB: Suspended WVU guard involved in car crash

Associated Press

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Suspended West Virginia point guard Darryl "Truck" Bryant is facing several misdemeanor charges for allegedly fleeing the scene of a July 4 accident.

The 19-year-old Bryant, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was released on his own recognizance after an arraignment Wednesday in Monongalia (mon uhn GALE' yuh) County Magistrate Court.

Magistrate's assistant Mandy Forbes said Thursday he was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, failing to maintain control, failing to immediately report the accident and failing to give information and render aid.

Forbes says no attorney of record is listed, and Bryant did not immediately respond to an e-mail or a telephone message Thursday.

West Virginia coach Bob Huggins announced Wednesday that Bryant had been suspended indefinitely for violating team rules. Huggins didn't specify the violation.
