An elderly woman is in serious condition this morning after being struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of Kahala Mall.

An initial dispatch call at 9:43 a.m. said the woman was struck in front of the California Pizza Kitchen restaurant. A witness said the woman was hit by a sport utility vehicle.
Bryan Cheplic, of the city’s Emergency Services Division, said paramedics treated and stabilized the woman at the scene before taking her to a trauma center. The woman was initially in critical condition but later upgraded to serious.
Cheplic said the woman was believed to be in her 80s.
