WAI'ANAE COAST
Preteens invited to try out for youth chorus

The Hawaii Youth Opera Chorus continues its search this month for fourth- through sixth-graders from Wai'anae Coast communities to be part of a new children's chorus from that region.

The final January audition will be from 3:15 to 4:45 p.m. Jan. 28 in the music room at the Ka Waihona Public Charter School, 89-195 Farrington Highway.

HYOC will accept a maximum of 40 students for this ensemble. Interested singers need to complete the online registration form, available at www.hyoc.org. No experience is necessary.

"The children on the Leeward Coast have so much musical talent that deserves to be showcased," said HYOC Executive and Artistic Director Nola Nahulu, who attended Wai'anae Elementary and Kamehameha Schools. "Let's give them the opportunity."
