On KGMB-9 today, it's "all Obama, all the time," says news director Chris Archer.

Coverage of Barack Obama's inauguration kicked off at 2 a.m. on the station, The Advertiser's television news partner. From 4:30 a.m. to noon, catch local news cut-ins, with KGMB reports from Washington, D.C., along with national coverage of the inauguration.

The swearing-in and speech will air live about 7 a.m.

And at noon, KGMB will re-play Obama's swearing-in and inauguration speech.

Archer said KGMB has three reporters in the nation's capital for the inauguration. They'll bring Hawai'i viewers reports throughout the day, including for a special, two-hour evening news broadcast from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and an hourlong 10 p.m. broadcast.

KGMB will also air news segments on the inauguration in Hawaiian this morning.

Archer said the station is "going all out" for its inauguration coverage in an effort to bring Hawai'i viewers a complete picture of the festivities.

"I can't think of a bigger, more important event, not only for the nation, but also for Hawai'i," Archer said. "We want our coverage to reflect the enormity of the inauguration."
