CORVALLIS, Ore. — Oregon State quarterback Lyle Moevao will have surgery on his right shoulder and will miss spring practice.
Moevao's recovery is expected to take six weeks to four months. He hurt his shoulder in November playing against Arizona State.
Sean Canfield will be the team's top quarterback going into spring practice, which begins March 30.
Moevao threw 19 touchdown passes and 13 interceptions in 11 starts last season. Canfield had six scoring passes and two interceptions in a pair of starts.
The Beavers finished 9-4 overall last season and tied for second in the Pacific-10 Conference.
