PEARL CITY
Gallons of raw sewage spill onto Navy property

Some 5,525 gallons of raw sewage were released onto Navy property behind Lehua Elementary School and into East Loch when a wastewater pipe broke in Pearl City, the city said.

The 21-inch reinforced concrete pipe broke near the intersection of Lehua and Second streets Tuesday afternoon.

The Department of Health and the Navy have been notified and sampling was scheduled for yesterday.
