Castle Resorts helps fund UH scholarship

 •  Picking Shin to win is really a no-brainer

Castle Resorts & Hotels and the Aloha Section PGA Foundation presented a $50,000 scholarship check to the University of Hawai'i at halftime of the men's basketball game last Thursday.

The scholarship is intended to provide a four-year scholarship for the UH golf program for a Hawai'i resident with financial need. Cost to attend UH is approximately $13,000 annually for tuition, room, board and books.

In order to fund the scholarship program, Castle Resorts sponsors the foundation's Pro-Am series.

"We are pleased that Castle Resorts & Hotels has renewed their sponsorship of the 2009 Pro-Am Series," said Tournament Chairman and Oahu Country Club head pro Andrew Feldmann. "This enables the ASPGA to establish an endowment fund for the UH men's and women's golf program."

This year, the ASPGA/Castle Resorts Pro-Am Series will be May 8 at 'Ewa Beach and Oct. 9 at Hawai'i Prince.
