Auditions set for Kumu Kahua Theatre production

Director Harry Wong is seeking an ensemble of eight actors for Kumu Kahua Theatre's production of two one-act plays dealing with events in Hawai'i's past Kemuel DeMoville's Kalua'iko'olau and Krystal Ontai's Waiting for a King, opening in mid-May 2009.

Roles are available for five men and three women to portray ages from teen's to early 60's.

Actors of all ages are encouraged to come, though auditioners should have some experience with hula, 'oli/chant , and Hawaiian language. Auditions will be held at The Academy of Film & Television, 1174 Waimanu Street, Suite A (behind Tahiti Imports) on Feb. 21 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.m, and Feb. 22 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Auditioners should come early and stay for the whole time. Scripts are available for loan with a $10 cash deposit at Kumu Kahua Theatre. Call 536-4222 for more information.
