Most Isle post offices plan to remain open today

Advertiser Staff

All but five Hawai'i post offices will be open on Christmas Eve, but 57 offices will shorten their retail lobby hours on that day. Regular mail delivery out of those offices on Thursday will be unaffected by the changes.

Two facilities serving Pearl Harbor Naval Base, the Tripler and Fort Shafter post offices and the Kukuihaele office on the Big Island will be closed on Christmas Eve. Those five offices do not provide delivery service.

To accommodate customers hoping to pick up mail after retail lobbies close on Christmas Eve, most offices will have normal will call operations throughout the afternoon. Specific revised hours will be posted at each post office. To obtain the phone number of a specific post office, call 800-ASK-USPS.

All post offices will be closed on Christmas. Regular post office hours and mail delivery will resume on Saturday.
