FHB service allows customers to send money via e-mail
First Hawaiian Bank has launched a new service that allows customers to send money securely to friends and family via the person's e-mail address or mobile phone number.
The bank calls the service POPmoney, which stands for “pay other people.”
Senders can include an e-mail or text message notifying the the recipients that funds are available for them to electronically deposit to just about any U.S. bank account they choose, according to a news release from the bank. The recipient will be required to enter a secret code that is sent to the e-mail address or mobile phone number provided by the sender to verify their identity
