KCC names new culinary Team Hawaii; regionals in February
Chef-instructor Alan Tsuchiyama today named the student team that will represent Kapi'olani Community College's culinary program at the regional American Culinary Federation competition in New Mexico in February, following on the heels of the national award winning 2009 team.
The Team Hawaii members are Anna Hirano (a holdover from the 2009 team), Kasey Watson, Erin Tsukamoto, Erik Kuo, clifford Manansala and Lauren Hamai.
"These individuals have been working hard and proving themselves to be ready for the challenges that are ahead. The journey they are about to travel will be a great experience for them and ultimately will make them better cooks and prepare them for the demanding culinary world," Tsuchiyama said in a written statement.
The team is already practicing its menus.
