Several musicians are coming together from 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday for a "Stop the Violence" fundraising concert at The Shack Waikiki. Proceeds are being donated to help defray hospital and medical costs for fellow musician and 'ukulele-maker Tangi Tully.

Tully continues to recover after being severely beaten on Nov. 7, when he tried to reclaim his bike that was being stolen outside of a Makiki bar on Beretania Steet. Among the performers are Teresa Bright, Afatia Thompson, Starr Kalahiki, Lopaka Colon, Sam Kapu II and Kit Ebersbach. Advance tickets are $15 and $20 at the door. Tom Moffatt's half century in radio and entertainment in Hawai'i is being celebrated in ways he didn't even know about. Fellow promoter George Chun compiled and recently released the CD "Tom Moffatt: 50 Years of Music in Hawaii, The Legacy 1." The CD is filled with songs from the Kasuals, Rene Paulo, SOS, Beamer Brothers, Don Ho, John Rowles, Keali'i Reichel, Kapena, TheSurfers and a host of other Hawaii acts Moffatt has worked with. It can be picked up at Borders, Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, Barnes & Noble, Sam Goody, military outlets and online at pacifichawaiianmusic.com. Moffatt said he didn't know about the CD until Mountain Apple Co. phoned to tell him it was reordering after the first 300 copies sold out.

"George was trying to hold off and surprise me," said Moffatt, founder of the original KPOI radio station. "I like the choices. It's very easy listening, really a nice mix."

Another reason Moffatt is celebrating is because he confirmed a second Elton John-Ray Cook concert (tickets on sale tomorrow) at the Blaisdell Arena for Jan. 9. (The first is Jan. 6 and sold out in record time.) The concerts mark John's seventh trip to O'ahu to perform since 1971, all with Moffatt promoting.

"The first time he came, we sold half the tickets in the house to see him," Moffatt said. "Next time it was a sell-out, then three sellouts he has a lot of aloha for Hawai'i. He could make a lot more money selling out concerts in other places, but he loves playing here."

If you missed comedian Dane Cook at the Blaisdell Arena last Saturday night, the same "ISolated INcident" tour material is on DVD. Cook's show was better than expected, but also too short for $100 premium seats. Opening acts Al Del Bene and Robert Kelly were equally funny — and also too short on time

Amy Hänaiali'i is in the midst of her "Amy Hänaiali'i Friends & Family of Hawai'i Christmas Tour" featuring some of the talent she sang duets with on her latest album. Joining her on tour is 'Aiea's Noah Juan, a 28-year-old technician at The Queen's Medical Center and the winner of Hänaiali'i's YouTube singing contest this summer. They'll be at Palace Theatre in Hilo tonight and Kahilu Theatre in Waimea Dec. 11 before hitting the Royal Hawaiian Showroom Dec. 12. Call each venue for ticket information.
