CORTLAND, N.Y. — Cornerback Darrelle Revis and nose tackle Kris Jenkins will be among four starters who’ll miss the New York Jets’ preseason opener against the St. Louis Rams because of injuries.
Coach Rex Ryan said Tuesday that center Nick Mangold and right tackle Damien Woody also will sit out the home game Friday night. None of the injuries are serious, but Ryan said the team was being cautious since it’s early in the preseason.
Revis has missed a few practices with tightness in his left hamstring, while Jenkins has been out since the second day of camp with a strained left calf muscle. Mangold injured his right knee Sunday, while Woody took a blow to the head Monday.
Ryan said fullback Tony Richardson (hip pointer) has a chance to play Friday.
