Police seek help in finding suspect in necklace theft

Advertiser Staff

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are seeking the public's help finding a man suspected of second-degree theft.

About 3:40 p.m. on July 30, a man entered the Diamond One Jewelry Store at Pearlridge Center. He approached the counter and asked to try on a gold necklace. After placing it on his neck, the man ran into the parking lot, where he was confronted by a retired police officer.

A struggle ensued, causing the thief to drop the necklace and run away. He was last seen getting into a silver four-door Dodge sedan near Kanuku Street.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300, or *CRIME on cellular phones. Free cell calls are provided by AT&T, Nextel Hawaii, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless Hawaii.
