The Minnesota Vikings have agreed to terms with first-round draft pick Percy Harvin on a five-year deal.

Harvin, a receiver out of Florida, missed the first two days of training camp while his agent Joel Segal negotiated a contract. Harvin hopped on an early flight from Florida to the Twin Cities to make sure he got to Mankato, Minn., in time for today's practice

Coach Brad Childress has said that it was important for Harvin, the 22nd overall pick in April's draft, to get into camp as soon as possible. He'll be asked to play a variety of roles for the Vikings this season, including receiver, running back and as a return man.

Meanwhile, quarterback Tarvaris Jackson did not practice yesterday while rehabbing a sprained MCL in his left knee.

Jackson was injured Saturday when defensive lineman LeTroy Guion accidentally rolled up on his leg during an 11-on-11 drill.

Childress said there "was a chance" Jackson, who is competing with Sage Rosenfels for the starting job, could return to practice today. He still has no plans to bring in another quarterback to help Rosenfels and John David Booty with practice snaps.

ROOKIE RB WELLS SPRAINS RIGHT ANKLE

Rookie running back Beanie Wells sprained his right ankle in his first training camp practice with the Arizona Cardinals in Flagstaff, Ariz.

Coach Ken Whisenhunt said yesterday the injury doesn't appear serious but it's uncertain how much practice time Arizona's first-round draft pick will miss.

The Ohio State star agreed on a five-year, $11.8 million contract, with $6.3 million guaranteed, on Saturday. He was hurt later in the day when he was carrying the ball in a drill near the end of the workout.

TOP PICK BRITT HAS SORE HAMSTRING

The Tennessee Titans' top draft pick is in training camp, but a sore hamstring has landed former Rutgers wide receiver Kenny Britt on the physically unable to perform list.

Britt agreed Saturday night on a five-year deal worth a little more than $12 million. He was just 10 miles away, so he was in camp yesterday in Nashville, Tenn.

Coach Jeff Fisher said he isn't sure how long Britt stays on the list and that it could be up to a week. That should keep Britt out of the Titans' preseason opener Aug. 9 in the Hall of Fame game against Buffalo.

TOP PICK BROWN AGREES TO TERMS

Top draft pick Donald Brown has agreed to terms with the Indianapolis Colts just before the start of training camp.

Team president Bill Polian made the announcement yesterday afternoon, as the team reported to Terre Haute. He did not disclose details of the contract, which is expected to be signed before the Colts open practice today.

Brown, a running back from Connecticut, is the last unsigned rookie of the Colts' eight draft picks. Indianapolis announced last week that it had signed all of its other rookies.

DOLPHINS

ROOKIES WHITE, CLEMONS SIGN

Quarterback Pat White has signed with the Miami Dolphins, and the team has all of its draft picks under contract for the start of training camp at Davie, Fla.

The Dolphins announced the signing of White, a second-round pick from West Virginia, and fifth-round choice Chris Clemons shortly before the first practice yesterday. They were the only remaining unsigned draft choices.

Clemons is a safety from Clemson. White is expected to be groomed for a role in the Wildcat package that revived the Dolphins' offense last year.

JAGUARS

OT BRITTON SIGNS FOUR-YEAR DEAL

Second-round draft pick Eben Britton has signed a four-year contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars, leaving the team with unsigned first-round offensive lineman Eugene Monroe heading into training camp at Jacksonville, Fla.

Britton's deal is worth about $4.6 million, with $2.8 million guaranteed. The 6-foot-6, 310-pound offensive tackle, the 39th overall selection, was a three-year starter at Arizona.
