MIAMI — Atlanta forward Marvin Williams has been ruled out of Game 3 against the Miami Heat with a back injury.

Williams tried to practice today during the Hawks' morning shootaround. He struggled, and the determination was made to hold him out of the matchup, with the series tied at a game apiece.

Mo Evans took Williams' place in the starting lineup. Hawks coach Mike Woodson said he was hopeful Williams could play Monday in Game 4 of the series.
