Auto racing: Castroneves cleared to race in Long Beach

LONG BEACH, Calif.— Helio Castroneves has been cleared to race in the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.

Castroneves, returning to the cockpit of his Team Penske IndyCar on Saturday, crashed during qualifying and came away complaining of a headache. IRL medical officials said there was no sign of a concussion, but had the Brazilian driver return Sunday morning for another examination.

The popular driver and 2007 "Dancing With the Stars" champion was able to return to racing after being acquitted on Friday in Miami on five of six charges of tax evasion. A conspiracy charge wound up with a hung jury.
