The owner of International Market Place is seeking bids to redevelop the iconic retail complex in Waikiki and surrounding parcels.

Queen Emma Land Co. today announced that it intends to make 6.5 acres under the marketplace, Waikiki Town Center, Perry's Smorgy Restaurant and Food Pantry available for lease to a developer after soliciting competing development bids.

The redevelopment plan also includes an option to include the land occupied by the Miramar Hotel if interested developers choose.

It would likely be about two years at the earliest before redevelopment begins.
