Big Island mayor recovering after heart surgery

Big Island Mayor Harry Kim is recovering from heart bypass surgery at The Queen's Medical Center.
There were no complications after today's successful three-hour operation.
A Queen's spokesman said the 69-year-old was in stable condition and will be in the intensive care unit for several days.
Kim suffered a heart attack Thursday while working at Hawai'i County's civil defense headquarters in Hilo. He was flown to Queen's later that night.
Kim has suffered two other heart attacks, most recently last month.
Term limits prevent Kim from running for re-election this year, and he steps down as mayor in December.
