KAPOLEI
Session on developing safe routes to schools

Parents and other community stakeholders are invited to participate in a day-long Safe Routes To School course from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. tomorrow in Kapolei.

The day-long session will show participants how to develop "safe route" programs in their own communities. Meet at the Villages of Kapolei Recreational Center, 91-1111 Kama'aha Loop. The course is free. An optional lunch is $6.

Safe Routes to School is a national program with the goal of developing safe environments in which children can walk or bicycle to and from their schools.

The course will conclude with participants doing a walk-through and audit of the area around Kapolei Elementary and Middle schools and developing an SRTS action plan.

To register, or for more information, call Laura Manuel at 692-7695.
