NFL: Panthers without starting OTs Otah and Gross

Associated Press

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers were without both starting offensive tackles on Sunday after Jeff Otah did not dress for the game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Jeremy Bridges replaced Otah at right tackle, and Frank Omiyale was to make his first NFL start at left tackle for Jordan Gross, who was ruled out Friday due to a concussion.

Otah, the 19th pick in April's draft, sprained his right ankle a week ago against Atlanta and has not practiced since.

Gross was knocked unconscious in the win over the Falcons after getting kneed in the head. His streak of starting 91 consecutive regular-season and playoffs games was snapped.

Kick returner Ryne Robinson (knee) missed his fifth straight game, and receiver Dwayne Jarrett was a healthy scratch for the third straight game.

For the Chiefs, linebacker Donnie Edwards (ankle) was sidelined again, while backup linebacker Erik Walden was active after being listed as questionable with an ankle injury.
