Nick Mason shot a final-round 8-under-par today to finish with a 135 total and two-stroke victory in the Hawai'i State Open at the Hawai'i Prince Golf Club.
Cyd Okino, a Punahou School freshman, won her third consecutive women's title by beating Kristina Merkle on the second hole of a playoff.
The tournament was just two rounds because yesterday's round was canceled because of rain.
Mason birdied his fourth, seventh, 12th, 14th and 15th holes. He also eagled his sixth and 13th holes.
Mason's only mistake was a bogey on his eighth hole.
Kalani Kiaaina finished second at 137 and Norman-Ganin Asao was third at 138.
First-round leader Jarett Hamamoto shot a 74 yesterday and finished five shots back in fourth at 140.
PGA Tour pro Dean Wilson shot a 70 today for a 141 total and finished tied for sixth.
Okino and Merkle, a Moanalua High School senior, finished at 144. They both birdied the first extra hole — the par-5 C9 hole, and Okino parred the par-4 C1 hole, while Merkle three-putted for bogey.
In the senior division, Leland Lindsay shot a 68 yesterday and finished at 135 for a one-stroke victory over Casey Nakama.
