Flood advisories canceled for Maui, Big Island

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has canceled flood advisories for the Big Island and Maui.
On the Big Island, Kamuela gauges show heavy rain falling at about one inch an hour and the rain is nearly stationary, the weather service said.
Other locations in the advisory include Waipio Valley, Upolu Airport, Mahukona, Honoka'a and Hilo.
Rainfall and runoff also are expected to cause hazardous driving conditions, the weather service said.
The advisory will last until 2:15 this afternoon.
Maui was experiencing heavy rain over the windward side and Kula this morning, with a gauge there reporting rainfall at about 1.1 inches per hour. The rain is nearly stationary there as well, the weather service said.
Other advisory locations are Wailuku, Kahakuloa, Napili, Haiku, Hana, Keanae, Honolulu, Honokohau and Pukalani.
The advisory will last until 1:15 p.m.
A flash-flood warning issued for Moloka'i until 11:30 a.m. has expired.
